Allison’s Ever-changing Music Taste (pt. 1)
November 1, 2021
If you’re anything like me then you probably get stuck listening to the same seven songs on repeat for a month, then switch. And if you’re anything like me, then this process is like clockwork- more predictable than a fat cat who loves fish.
Evidently, and unfortunately, it will be a challenge to break out of this insidious habit and branch out for new music. For this reason, I will be listening to new music and giving my reviews on it (not in this article though, sorry to disappoint).
First, let’s look at some of my favorite music.
Anyone who knows me personally knows how much I love Taylor Swift. It’s not so much a love, but an obsession. Once I got where my mother was born confused with where Taylor Swift was born (whoops, but to be fair, they were both born in Pennsylvania!).
Anyway, some of my favorite Taylor Swift songs are as follows (in no particular order, or maybe it is, you never know):
“The Way I Loved You (Taylor’s Version)”, “betty”, “cowboy like me”, “Cruel Summer”, “august”, “Delicate”, “this is me trying”, “I Think He Knows”, “Better Than Revenge” “Our Song”, “champagne problems”, “Everything Has Changed”, “Should’ve Said No”, “Dancing With Our Hands Tied”, “I Know Places”, “Enchanted”, “Red”, “Haunted”, and of course “All Too Well”.
Here’s a link to a playlist with all of them on it:

That may seem like a long list, but that’s noncomprehensive.
I like to categorize my music taste by mainly four genres. Surprisingly, most, if not all the music I listen to can fall into one of these categories:
- Taylor Swift + Taylor Swift adjacent
- Indie Pop/ Rock
- Angsty Teen
- Songs that I heard a long time ago that I keep coming back to, mostly for nostalgia, but also because they’re really good songs
I really have no explanation.
Anyway, I’m going to make a playlist of songs I recommend and review, so here’s that link:

As of this article’s release date its empty, but as I write about more songs, I’ll add to it. If you have any suggestions on what songs to listen to, I will eagerly and gladly take them.
