The Lansing High School Cross Country team qualified many runners to state by running personal bests and placing first last Saturday at regionals.

Last Saturday, the cross country team qualified the boys’ team and three girls to the state meet this Saturday at the 4 Mile Creek Resort in Augusta.

The boys’ team placed first, with Senior Michael Howell getting 3rd place. The boys received a team score of 44, with an average time of 16:49.

The girls’ team was one point shy of qualifying, however, Sophomores Anya Anderson and Rebekah Tanner and Senior Allison Muzzy qualified individually. Nearly all the girls achieved personal bests, and the team had an average time of 21:26 for the course.

The team continues practice this week ahead of the state meet this Saturday.
