On September 7th, Lansing’s Cross Country team competed in their first meet of the season at Tonganoxie. Both the girls and boys team competed against Tonganoxie hoping to come out with some wins for both individuals as well as team overall.

Senior captains this year are Alex Mack, Liam Neiding, and TJ Robinson.

“The boys team came out with the win so overall I think we did a good job especially for it being the first meet of the season,” said Robinson.

Many runners also came out with individual placings with TJ Robinson placing 1st, Liam Neiding 2nd, and Alex Mack 6th.

The boys are all ecstatic with the win however they still hope to improve more as a team with getting times down. With it as well being their senior season, both Mack and Robinson mentioned, “We’re really hoping to win state this year as a team and leave that as a platform for the boys within the following years.”

Junior, Mia Moshier spoke on behalf of the girls team. “The girls team gave it our very best and even though it wasn’t the outcome we had hoped for it gives us space to improve for upcoming meets,” said Moshier. The girls also hope to see improvements and continue to work to build up each other and the team as a whole.

The boys and girls both hope to improve before their next meet this Saturday at Topeka West.
