Today the Lansing Girls Swim team is headed to Topeka for their State Tournament. This will be the 6th consecutive year that all three relays have gone to state. “During the season our goal was to get qualified, now our goal is to be swimming on Saturday at finals,” said Coach David Bresser. Only the top 16 relays snd swimmers in each event will be returning for finals the next day. “As I tell all of my swimmer, of you don’t swim fast on Friday you won’t be swimming on Saturday,” said Bresser.

There will be nine Lansing swimmers attending the State Tournament:

  • Austyn Garcia(SR)
  • Trinity Hall(SR)
  • Darby Mance(SR)
  • Alix Lawler(JR)
  • Samantha Moburg(JR)
  • Gracie Slattery(JR)
  • Ryley Bullock(SO)
  • Alexis Buchholz(FR)
  • Kailyn Cline(FR)

Even though not every swimmer made it to state, their teammates are cheering them on from the sidelines. ” I feel like the swimmers have a really good chance this year to score more points, especially in the relays because they have strong swimmers in every one,” said Junior Heather Ober.
