Last week the Lady Lions Softball team took on the Leavenworth Pioneers, defeating them 15-1 and 12-2. The girls have been working hard to improve their record, with hopes of going to state. “Our season has been going very well so far. We have put a lot of work in as a team and working individually on our own positions, that way when were ready to play it’s just doing what we love at what we are good at. We are very comfortable with the people we play around, which makes playing the game so much easier. We have been having a lot of fun and been outing in a lot of work to help prolong our season,” said Senior Bradi Basler.
This Thursday, Friday, and Saturday the girls will take on a multitude of 6A schools in a tournament in Shawnee. “If we play as one and use all of our talents together we will battle the other teams and win. If we keep communication and effort on the table and stay united the outcome will be great,” said Junior Lindsay Schuler. This tournament is preparing the team for a “state-like” experience and will show them where they stand.
