On Friday night the boy baseball team took on one of their biggest rivals, The Leavenworth Pioneers. The Lions came out victorious with a score of 13-0. This game was extra important for Senior Dylan McLain, who transferred to Lansing from Leavenworth at the beginning of the school year. “It was an amazing feeling. After getting a lot of backlash for leaving, then knowing that you made the right decision to after beating them by that much. It was just a great feeling,” said McLain. Senior Derrick Williamson pitched the entire game, leaving the Pioneers scoreless. Senior Dakota Sill went 3-3 at the plate. Sophomore Peyton Basler, Seniors Caleb Adams, Dylan McLain, and Logan Barnard were 2-3. These are just a few of the major contribution to taking home the win.

The boys will face the Pioneers once again on Tuesday at 5 on Leavenworth’s turf. “We all feel really confident in having the same results as Friday, but we know that they are going to fight and we just have to play like we did on Friday to get the win,” said Senior Caleb Adams. The boys have a really good chance of going to state this year, with ten returning varsity seniors. It seems as if they are going to be the team to beat.

Come out this Tuesday at 5 to watch the Lions defeat the Pioneers once again!
