Mr. Casey McCord’s Creative Writing class is participating in National Write a Novel Month. NaNoWriMo was made to help motivate people to start writing novels and to inspire young writers.

“It’s very interesting to write your own novel and fun too,” sophomore Ian Rose said.

The class spends days working on their novels, trying to get as many words as they can until they reach their goal of 30,000 words.

The class was given the assignment November 1st and are expected to have it turned in by December 1st.

Students are given full roam of the class room to find a place to get comfortable and write. "My novel is a combination of Greek, Roman and Egyptian mythology," junior Moira Sonier shared.

“My novel is about a guy who realizes that even though his life isn’t what it used to be, it’s still worth living,” senior Lora Struckel told.

Mr. McCord has his class doing this assignment in the hopes that people will finally be able to get the first draft of their novels done, as well as to join a movement.

The class is full of young people who enjoy writing and try to spend as much time as they can doing what they love.
